Connecting Jews from around the world to Israel without frameworks

faq's

General Zionism is an ideology within the Zionist Movement that focuses on the pragmatic and liberal implementation of Jewish self determination without affiliating itself with a political party or religious stream. General Zionism places the primacy of Israel above sectarian interests and seeks to advance Zionism “without hyphens” to address those Jews and Zionists who wish to connect to Israel and their Jewish identity without feeling limited or constrained by special interests or narrow agenda. The political manifestations of General Zionism (in Israel and the diaspora) have undergone several changes over the years. Today, General Zionism in the World Zionist Congress is represented by the Kol Israel faction, which unites the 2 General Zionist parties – the World Confederation of United Zionists (CUZ) and Tnuat Hamerkaz Haliberalit Hanoar Hatzioni (TH4).

Today, the Zionist world suffers from stagnation, politicization, and polarization, which inhibit its ability to inspire the Jewish people in Israel and the diaspora. Instead of working together to promote Israel and Jewish peoplehood, the factions (parties) inside the World Zionist Congress, which run the National Institutions, focus on the minor gaps that separate the parties. These differences divide our people and prevent other parties from gaining political strength to advance the good of the Jewish People. General Zionism posits a different approach – we are fierce centrists who focus on improving the lives of Jews wherever they may be and enhancing their connection to Israel, without any hidden agendas. We believe that this rallying cry can rejuvenate the National Institutions and return them to their days of glory when they led the Jewish people.

If you are passionate about supporting Israel and educating about it without labels, if you feel like Aliyah and promoting Jewish peoplehood in the diaspora are key elements of being a Zionist, and if you want to be a part of bringing the Zionist Movement to the 21st century – Kol Israel is your home. We need people who can help us spread the values of General Zionism around the world and join our outreach to new constituencies and countries.

Israel’s existence continues to be a source of inspiration, celebration, and miraculous manifestation following 2,000 years of exile, and yet there is much to do. Israel and Global Jewry find themselves at a historical intersection requiring us to identify and build upon that which unites us. Some of these challenges include Jewish literacy, reclamation of Zionist ideals, antisemitism, and Jewish Unity. The Zionist Movement, and its National Institutions, are strategically positioned to support our collective efforts to overcome today’s challenges.
We at Kol Israel offer a new way for world Jewry Jews to connect to Israel – not through the spectrum of religious or political affiliation, but directly, with no boundaries or preconceptions. The relationship will be based on shared values and goals and offer modern, innovative approaches to realize them.

We are looking for the support and involvement of all who wish to be involved in the Zionist world.

Connecting Jews from around the world to Israel without frameworks

Kol Israel serves to advance the dreams and expectations of Global Jewry in its relationship with Israel. Kol Israel is an a-partisan, non-denominational faction bringing together Jews from all backgrounds and political ideologies: right wing and left wing, Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Secular, Sephardic and Ashkenazic, to educate and engage our next generation of leaders and activists who carry the mantle of Jewish continuity forward. We believe Zionism should come with no hyphens or predispositions and wish to serve as a home to all Jews who wish to work for a better Israel and Jewish peoplehood without any political or religious framework.
